Willie Thomas Moody

Willie Thomas “Tom” Moody, age 90, of Utica, Mississippi passed away March 10, 2023, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was the last child born to Irene Landers and Robert A. Moody on May 2, 1932. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 70 years, Marjorie Pearl Strong, who he married after graduating from Utica High School. He then joined the U. S. Navy serving as a shipman in the Korean War. He was an electrician having spent his career at Westinghouse, Bechtel Grand Gulf and Triad Electric. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and watching football.

Tom is preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Moody, and 9 sisters and brothers. He is also survived by his children, Tim Moody (Laurel), Debbie Redditt (Roger deceased), and Tommy Moody (Karen) and brother, Harmon Moody. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kayla Redditt, Gina Redditt, Austin Moody (Breanna) and Josh Moody. Tom’s life was blessed with 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, Mississippi on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 2:00 followed by burial in the Utica Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Austin Moody, Josh Moody, Jakob Turner, Butch Landers, Bob Bairrington and Daniel Warner.
